Monara Reach, independent translator
I didn't start out in translation. My STMG technical baccalauréat first trained me in business organization and communication, then an internship in an industrial setting taught me something I've never forgotten: in manufacturing, a one-millimeter error has consequences. I kept that instinct. In translation, a nuance mistranslated can change the meaning of an entire text, and I treat every sentence with the same rigor.
Later, an internship in IT support and customer database management gave me real ease with digital tools. Since then, I've pushed that further: I know how to build a website from scratch (this one is proof), and I've learned to use AI tools in an advanced way to work more efficiently on certain tasks.
At home, French has always lived alongside Khmer, my second language. That closeness gave me an early sensitivity to unspoken meaning and implicit context, something no dictionary teaches. It also fed a broader curiosity: I'm currently learning Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Thai, and I have some notions of Italian and Spanish, each for a different reason, which you can read about on the Skills page.
LangMatters was born from this dual background: rigor first, linguistic sensitivity second. I don't translate isolated words, I aim to capture intent, in French or English that never reads as translated.

French
Native language. Fluent writing, flawless spelling, style adapted to the target audience.

Level B2, TOEIC certified. Comfortable with professional documents, basic technical texts and digital communication.
Khmer (Cambodian)
Listening comprehension acquired within the family. Useful for interpreting specific cultural nuances.
I'm also actively learning Chinese, Japanese and Korean, an approach that broadens my understanding of language structures and prepares me for future pan-Asian projects. I also have school-level notions of Italian and Thai.
